***UPDATE*** Current Projects

I've neglected this blog too long. It seems easier to just update Facebook but I will do better here!

The "witches" and Promise Land projects are progressing.
I've taken a new approach for witches... write and perform the first draft edit simultaneously. It seems to be working, but it is taking a long time. Currently (as of 19 Jan 2026), I am on page 86 of what I feel will be very close to the final draft before my editor sinks her claws into it. I started officially writing this book on 29 Mar 2025. That's about 300 days ago. YIKES. But during that time, I also started editing Promise Land... so I can't say I've been totally lazy.

So in witches (no solid title as of yet), Jilly and some girls from her school dabble in light witchcraft when they form a coven as their school club. They basically wanted friendships and it seemed like a cool thing to do. And it was just what Jilly expected... a group of girls getting together to play around and pretend to cast spells. They did silly things they didn't expect to work... like casting spells from Shakespeare's plays... until they acquired the book. <play ominous music here>

I am happy to say that this book is progressing well. No writer's block here, just hoping my direction resonates with readers.

I posted a snippet to the Facebook page, so I will repeat it here...
I love this scene. I removed the NAME (XXXXXX) to reduce the spoiler... I will give no context to the scene.

Her head lolled behind her, chin thrust up, mouth yawning open.
“You broke the coupling, sweeting,” XXXXXX’s voice hissed from that upside-down mouth. “Very naughty of you.”

This series is going to be fun to write! I already have ideas for the next two books.

As for Promise Land...
Honestly... I haven't touched it in a few weeks. I've been so focused on Jilly. But it has seen some editing. I think I'm on page 80 or so with the first editing pass. There is no real deadline for this book... so I have time! So get off my back!

Jilly on the other hand has a strict time limit. April 2026. Which is when I promised my audiobook narrator the final script. I intend to meet that deadline! Then it will be Miss Jilly Watson, please meet your narrator and namesake, Miss Jilly Bond. It's gonna be beautiful!
